A Case of Septo-Optic Dysplasia

Abstract
Septo-optic dysplasia is a rare congenital disease associating abnormalities of the optic nerves and tract with absense of the septum pellucidum.
Septo-optic dysplasia is considered a form of holoprosencephaly resulting from abnormal induction of the prechordal mesoderm. The diagnosis of septo-optic dysplasia is clinical, suspected in infants and children with blindness and supplemented by
brain
computerized tomography.
We experienced a case of septo-optic dysplasia-atrophied optic structures, enlarged suprasellar cistern, dysgenesis of corpus callosum, abnormal visual evoked potential findings and seizure-and reported this case with review of the literatures.
